Research phase

Surveys
-
85.7% of people are working.
-
71.4% of people are busy at their work.
-
100% of people get frustrated when they have unexpected meetings.
UX is all revolved around customers and business without talking to our users. we will never understand what customer wants & what they really need.
Out of 10 surveys, I got 7 responses, from this survey I understood that
Customer Interviews
The purpose of User Research is to identify the current pain points of users, and identify users' needs and wants.
I interviewed parents who have kindergarten kids as well as elementary kids from that I noticed,
-
Parents were worried about drivers and the security of the small kids.
-
They are worried about the drop destination if they have any changes at the last minute.

From the 8 personas, I selected Nyra.
-
Nyra is a single mother with 2 kids.
-
Nyra loves her job and wants to be a successful manager.
-
She wishes to buy a new house & willing to work overtime, at the same time, she wants to pick her elementary school kids from school.
-
She is frustrated that she couldn't pick and drop her kids to school on time.
-
She is still in search of trusty drivers.
Define phase
Once I understood what the industry is doing, what the competitor doing, & what the customer is saying then I have plotted everything on the customer journey map.
thereby I can break down some of the emotions feeling needs, wants and some of problems customers are facing. We start visualizing potential solutions
Customer Journey Map

Ideate phase
-
Will this idea bring a solution to our users? Will it provide value to them?
-
Is it technologically feasible? Can we build it?
-
Is it viable for the business? Does it attend a market opportunity

Paper Wireframes
Paper wireframe I made to represents the basic structure of this app.
After researching and defining the key parameters, I went into wireframe design. In designing, I kept asking myself the key questions like
How I can provide a user-friendly and intuitive app?
How I could ensure the safety of the pick-up ride?
How securely I can integrate the payment gateway?

Wireframes
After getting substantial feedback from our peers I went on to create digital prototypes which were refined over time.
User flow

Iteration
Next I explored different design possibilities: From each repetition of the design I learn something that I can use for the next iteration.

Prototype

A prototype is a draft version of a product that allows us to explore ideas.

Conclusion
What did we learn?
Designing the app has been a challenging and rewarding journey. It was clear from the onset that the major challenge was to make parents believe that their kids are safe. I understood the needs of the users through the survey and conversations. Finally, I faced the challenge of creating an engaging app both from the user experience perspective and the visual perspective.
