What is ICMC?
ICMC programs teach participants to “prime” their minds before they start watching screens, a strategy that elevates empathy and accelerates learning. And the ICMC has created an astonishing range of arts, education and social justice programs that use film to improve education in under-resourced schools and inspire inmates in jails.

The Challenge:

The challenge is to minimize number of clicks to complete user journey on home, parent and teacher workshops pages, which had the most amount of feedback to improve upon. The pages were deemed not intuitive.
The Proposed Solution :
Our design team have proposed a potential to improve Search Experience Optimization (SXO) and thus the revenue. It lies in addressing the UX issues. So as a lead designer I have to prioritize content on the landing page and implement CTA buttons, so that the customer receives all the needed information.
Families who have children under 6 year old was struggle with balancing screen time and family time.
-
It affects children’s emotional intelligence, literacy skills, attention span and physical state.
-
The ICMC approach involves talking to children before screen use even begins, incorporating physical activity and movement, priming the brain for what is going to be on screen and how kids are going to interpret it.
Why does it matter?

After redesign ICMC website the KPI'S changed
Research
I needed to conduct a white paper research to determine the needs of ICMC customers and how the ICMC org can gain advantages through our design.
First, I took into consideration that the ICMC org’s mission is to teach parents and educators how to use technology in affirming ways. our team decided to use nature as an inspiration. Breaking it down further, we designed individual UI components of what constitutes biophilic design.

How did my research shape our design ideas?
Team research questions:
-
How much time a week do you usually spend searching for educational resources?
-
What devices do you use when searching for education resources?
-
Do you pay attention to whether websites are transparent about their history such
as taxes \ testimonials \ third-party reviews? .
-
How do you usually select website or app-by checking reviews/testimonials?
-
How many clicks does it take you to request booking information about Professional Development Workshops\Mindful Viewing®\ Screen Smart on ICMC?
-
Do you read like to ICMC products descriptions?
Teacher Persona-1

Parent Persona-2

Why would our persona Jill and Claudia visit the ICMC site?
Exploratory:
To see what ICMC does.
To learn how as a parent and a teacher, they can help children use technology more effectively.
To find any incentive workshops for parents and educators.
Task Execution:
Once satisfied with the information they find, explore further to determine where and how they can participate in ICMC workshops by completing the interactive questionnaire
Book a free consultation with the ICMC.
User Path
Thinking about Jill’s and Claudia’s journeys, their user paths illustrated and would later be used to help us outline our Research Plan.
Initial user testing would provide invaluable insights and directly impact how we’ would start to design the user experience:
Would ICMC customers take the typical path to complete tasks, and if not, what was their thinking process?
We wanted to see how the ICMC customer would behave while completing tasks, by observing their actions and emotions, documenting them in detail, and having measurable indicators to compare against. Annotations were made on each respective page by redlining. To assess any usability and accessibility issues, a heuristic evaluation was conducted and any issues were recorded. Recommendations were also noted.

Competitor Analysis
Next, I wanted to explore what makes similar sites. As such, I conducted a competitor analysis to see how their advantages could be integrated into the project.
There are 3 direct competitors and 3 indirect competitor I found for ICMC website. One of the direct competitor is CuraJOY with the strength of Social Media links, Unlimited chats free, clean website layout/clear site architecture links.
And with the second competitor was Joy. ICMC was lacking is Clear mission teaching good habits and the concept of time, while also encouraging them to stay active with its fitness tractor , backed by science, feature study.
ICMC’s third competitors Fred Rogers Engaging UI, clear display of learning goals ,No stock Images ,easy to navigate the site, news brand transparency
STYLE GUIDE
I developed wireframes based on the established user flow. I developed the initial wireframe and then worked with the internal stakeholder to expand on those wireframes while incorporating feedback from ICMC customers. Once our team was happy with the result, I proceeded to create a clickable prototype. ICMC mood-board was the inspiration for our UI Style Tile and Style Guide.

Final Thoughts
Conclusion
As a team we conclude the ICMC project, we reflect on the transformative impact of user-centered design within the organization. Our user surveys and usability tests guided us toward a simplified navigation structure and improved content discoverability. The intranet's engagement metrics have surged, with a 40% increase in knowledge-sharing activities among employees. This project underlines the role of UX design in fostering effective communication and collaboration across the company."

Takeaway : Navigation Streamlining

Recommendation: Enhance visibility of "ICMC workshop" by strategically featuring the workshop on the prominent main page, we can captivate parents & teachers(customers) attention with an eye-catching colourful design, ensuring they are immediately drawn to this valuable offering.
-
Usability testing revealed that parents and teacher (customers) struggled to locate the "ICMC workshop" feature.
-
Participants frequently resorted by clicking the navigating through the menu instead of scrolling.
